It reached platinum status in America and was nominated for a Grammy for best rock song in 2006. This song gave the Foo Fighters their best chart positions to date: 18th in the USA, fourth in Great Britain and fifth in Australia. The song is also often played live: it is included on the DVD Live at Wembley Stadium in an extended version as the last song of the performance.
