Since 2005 he has been active as lead singer with Chris Chaney from Jane's Addiction in a side project called Coattail Riders (or Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders ). The first album was released in spring 2006. Taylor also recorded all the drums on the album Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star: IV - Volume 2: No World for Tomorrow by the band Coheed and Cambria .
