Besu Sado Beku (born January 12, 1996 ) is an Ethiopian middle-distance runner who specializes in the 800-meter run .
Athletic career
Besu Sado gained her first international experience at the 2014 African Championships in Marrakech , where she finished seventh in the 1,500 meter run in 4: 17.51 minutes . The following year she qualified for the World Championships in Beijing , where she was eliminated in the semifinals with 4: 17.17 minutes . Then she won the silver medal behind her compatriot Dawit Seyaum at the Africa Games in Brazzaville in 4: 18.86 minutes . In 2016, she reached the final at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she finished ninth in 4: 14.58 minutes. In 2017 she reached the semi-finals at the World Championships in London , where she was eliminated with 4: 07.65 minutes. In 2018 she was fourth at the African Championships in Asaba in 4: 15.74 minutes.
In 2014, 2016 and 2018 Sado became the Ethiopian champion in the 1500 meter run.
