Bettina Meier-Augenstein

Bettina Meier-Augenstein (* 5. November 1976 in Karlsruhe ) is a German politician of the CDU , she was from October 2014 to 2016 member of parliament in Baden-Wuerttemberg .

Life and work

After graduating from high school, Bettina Meier-Augenstein completed an apprenticeship as a bank clerk / financial assistant at BBBank eG Karlsruhe and an extra-occupational degree with a degree as a banking specialist (IHK). She then worked in various functions at ZG Raiffeisen eG.

Political activity

Meier-Augenstein was district chairwoman of the Junge Union Karlsruhe-Stadt from 1995 to 2001. From 2001 to 2016 she was chairwoman of the CDU local association Rüppurr, since 2005 she has been a member of the district board of the CDU North Baden and since 2010 deputy district chairwoman of the CDU Karlsruhe-Stadt. In 1999 she was elected to the municipal council of the city of Karlsruhe, where she was deputy parliamentary group leader from 2004 to 2009. For the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 2006 and the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 2011 , Meier-Augenstein stood as a substitute candidate for Manfred Groh . After his departure in October 2014, she replaced him in the state parliament. Meier-Augenstein represented constituency 27 (Karlsruhe I) in the 15th electoral term . She has been a member of the ZKM Board of Trustees since November 2014. Bettina Meier-Augenstein is the family policy spokeswoman for the CDU local council group.

In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 2016 Meier-Augenstein was able to unite around 15,000 votes and was thus defeated by the Green candidate Bettina Lisbach , who received more than 10% more votes and won the direct mandate for constituency 27.

On May 9, 2018, she submitted her application as Lord Mayor of Stutensee . In the first ballot on July 8, 2018, Meier-Augenstein achieved the highest number of votes with 38.7 percent, in the second ballot on July 22, 2018 she received 42.3 percent and was defeated by her opponent Petra Becker (non-party).

Meier-Augenstein is Evangelical-Lutheran. She is married and has two daughters.
