Bettina Scholl-Sabbatini (born December 19, 1942 in Esch an der Alzette ) is a Luxembourgish sculptor and sculptor .

Life

Bettina Scholl-Sabbatini was born as the daughter of the sculptor Aurelio Sabbatini . From 1963 to 1967 she studied sculpture and ceramics at the Istituto d'arte Sesto Fiorentino , Florence and then painting and drawing at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris .

Her works in ceramic , stone and bronze can be found in several churches and chapels in Luxembourg. Through her social engagement for the non-governmental organization Soroptimist International , she got an insight into the ethnic art of Africa , which impressed her and influenced her own style. In some of her sculptures, influences from African culture are visible.

social commitment

Bettina Scholl-Sabbatini is Vice President of Soroptimist International and was one of the main initiators of the peace marathons in Kigali / Rwanda .
