history

Already in 1436 was Bezděkov (also: Bozukhau, Botzikhau) as one of the original Chodendörfer mentioned. It was one of the twelve old Pfraumberg villages in the Chodengau region, whose special privileges went back to the 12th century. These privileges were defended by the Choden in a trial from 1567 to 1590 against the Schwanbergs . The process ended when Emperor Rudolf II sold Bezděkov (Pössigau) to Burghard Merklinsky von Bernartice (Pernatitz) in 1596 . From this it was sold two years later to the Hostau lordship and with this came into the possession of Matthias von Trauttmansdorff in 1656 .

The Germanization of the originally Czech place name Bezděkov in Pössigkau dates from the 16th century. The conversion of the final syllable -ov into German -au was characteristic of this period.

In the tax roll of 1656 Bezděkov (Pössigkau, also: Pesikau) was listed with 13 Chalupners, 7 gardeners, 3 new settlers, 3 desolate properties, 41 teams, 26 cows, 54 young cattle, 52 sheep and 82 pigs.

Bezděkov (Pössigau) first belonged to the parish Újezd Svatého Kříže (Holy Cross) and in 1786 by Bela nad Radbuzou (Weißensulz) the parish. In 1815 it was parish off to Dubec (Tutz) . The children of Bezděkov (Pössigau) went to primary school in Dubec (Tutz) from 1784 . In 1835 Bezděkov (Pössigau) and Třemešné (Zemschen) built a joint elementary school, which was two-class in 1848 and three-class from 1913.

At the end of the 19th century there were 16 farmers in Bezděkov (Pössigau) , 14 chalupers, 28 cottagers with agriculture, 30 cottagers without agriculture, 3 restaurants, 4 mills, 11 masons, 3 carpenters, 4 woodcutters, one shoemaker, one tailor, one Carpenter and a carter. In 1930 the place had 87 houses in which 405 Germans, 10 Czechs and 3 foreigners lived.

Bezděkov (Pössigau) belonged to the Kingdom of Bohemia as part of Austria-Hungary until the end of the First World War in 1918 . After the collapse of the dual monarchy, it belonged to Czechoslovakia . In the Munich Agreement , the place was added to the German Reich and until 1945 belonged to the district of Bischofteinitz in the so-called Sudetenland . After the Second World War, on the basis of the Beneš decrees , the expulsion of German residents began. At the same time, the place was repopulated by people from other parts of the country.
