The District Rorschach was by the end of 2002, an administrative unit of the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland . Eggersriet has been part of the St. Gallen constituency since 2003 , the other municipalities have been part of the Rorschach constituency since then .
1803-1831
Since the founding of the canton of St. Gallen in 1803, the Rorschach district consisted of the communities Gaiserwald , Straubenzell , Tablat , Wittenbach , Häggenschwil , Muolen , Mörschwil , Untereggen , Steinach , Rorschach and Rorschacherberg .
In 1831 the previous district of Rorschach was divided:
- Gaiserwald and Straubenzell came to the Gossau district
- Tablat, Wittenbach, Häggenschwil and Muolen came to the Tablat district
- the other communities remained in the Rorschach district
1831-2002
The Federal Statistical Office ran the district under FSO no. 1707.
