Big Foot - The biggest monster of all time (Original title: Bigfoot ) is an American horror film by director Robert F. Slatzer from 1970. In Germany, the film premiered on October 21, 1976 a few years late.

action

The inhabitants of a small town in the Rocky Mountains live in fear of the monster Bigfoot . In the course of the plot, a pilot crashes her plane. Unknown creatures kidnap both the pilot and Rick's friend and tie them to trees. After the sheriff makes no move to go to the rescue, the one-armed Jasper B. Hawks set out with Rick to save the women. They are supported by a rock band with their brand new Yamaha motorcycles , which are accompanied by their bikini-clad friends.

In the meantime, the creatures have handed Joi Landis over to Big Foot. He escapes with her from the approaching rockers. After a lengthy chase in which Joi is released, Big Foot retreats into a cave. One of the rockers throws a charge of explosives into the cave, which then collapses.

criticism

Roger Ebert gave the film a star and a half.

The lexicon of international films wrote in a nutshell that Big Foot was a “primitive horror film with involuntarily comical interludes” , which Ronald M. Hahn and Volker Jansen specified in their lexicon of science fiction films: Big Foot impresses because of its involuntary humor and the sloppy costumes of the hairy hybrids: one of the 'ape-men' tucked into their skins was not even able to put his 'shirt' into their 'pants'.
