To the north, a new industrial area joins today between Longericher Strasse and Robert-Perthel-Strasse .
The Rheinenergie head office is located in Bilderstöckchen .
history
The name Bilderstöckchen comes from a Bilderstock or holy house , which was first mentioned as a border mark in 1556 and gave the district its name. When this picture stock was renewed in 1860, the field was still open. With the construction of the Nippes train station in 1898 and the slaughterhouse, the first residential buildings were built on today's Escher Strasse. The Nippeser Bau- und Spargenossenschaft built houses on Nievenheimer Strasse near the Nippeser Friedhof. In 1903 a school was built on Osterather Strasse. With the construction of an artillery depot in 1909, the construction of picture sticks initially stagnated. A few tenement houses were built in the 1920s. In 1924 Milchversorgung Köln GmbH set up a central dairy farm at Geldernstrasse 46, which was expanded by Milchversorgung Rheinland from 1965 (currently operated by FrieslandCampina Germany ). When the city of Cologne owned the former military area in the 1930s, the depot halls were first converted into apartments with the help of the Am Bilderstöckchen settlement company and various Catholic organizations. In 1937, the ten 150-meter-long hall buildings were converted into row houses as the first rental apartment building of the settlement company.
After moving since 1977, the Dreikönigsgymnasium is located at Escher Strasse 247. In addition to the Bilderstöckchen family center and the Reutlinger Strasse secondary school , there are KGS Alzeyer Strasse , GGS Alzeyer Strasse and GGS Osterrather Strasse .
Culture and leisure
The Blücherpark was built between 1910 and 1913 as one of the first public parks in Cologne. Initially it was connected to Neuehrenfeld and is an important recreational area.
buildings
- Heckhof, built 1850–1860
- Crossroads, located at the Heckhof, built in 1860
- Wayside shrine around 1860
- Memorial cross on Longericher Strasse, erected in 1717
(The cross is actually in Longerich and was destroyed by strangers. Only a remnant of the shaft is visible. In the past, the cross stood far away from the localities in the field. In 1910 it was built into picture sticks in the railway embankment Daedalusring in the park. There was an altar of blessings there during the Corpus Christi procession. The only partially legible inscription on the cross from Trachyte reports that Matheis Schramm died on August 21, 1717 at 11 o'clock)
- Protestant Nathanael Church from 1965
(This list is not exhaustive and only names a few important buildings that are currently listed in the monuments directory of the city of Cologne or are known throughout the city)
