Bill W. Benton

Bill W. Benton (born before 1989) is an American sound engineer .

Life

Benton began his career at a recording studio in Los Angeles . He later switched to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer , where he worked in various areas of sound design . In 1991 , he and Russell Williams II , Jeffrey Perkins and Gregory H. Watkins received the Oscar in the Best Sound category for Dances with Wolf , and he was nominated for the 1992 BAFTA Film Award in the Best Sound category. In 1994 (for Geronimo - Eine Legende ) and 1997 (for Independence Day ) he was nominated again for an Oscar, but went empty-handed at both awards. For Independence Day , he also received another nomination for the BAFTA Film Award.
