Jeffrey Perkins

Jeffrey Perkins is an American sound engineer .

Life

Perkins was fascinated by film, especially film sound, from an early age and began making sound recordings on 8 mm film at the age of 12 . He studied film at Ryerson University in Toronto , but did not move to Los Angeles until two decades later to pursue a career in film. Among other things, he learned there from Richard Portman and Robert L. Hoyt .

He made his film debut with the Chuck Norris - action film Missing in Action . Until the late 2000s, he worked mainly in film and was, among other things Hollywood - blockbusters such as The Return - Aliens , The Cartel and Dances with Wolves involved. For the latter film he received in 1991 along with Russell Williams II , Bill W. Benton and Gregory H. Watkins the Oscar in the category Best Sound . He was also nominated for Dances with Wolf for the BAFTA Film Award in the Best Sound category.

Since 2009 he has been working as a re-recording mixer (TV) at Warner Bros. Entertainment and is almost exclusively involved in television productions. He worked on 62 episodes of Breaking Bad and 73 episodes of Elementary , among others
