Gregory H. Watkins

Gregory H. Watkins - also Greg H. Watkins , Greg Watkins and Gregory Watkins - (* 20th century ) is an American sound engineer . It won an Oscar in the category "Best Sound" in 1991 and has been nominated for an Oscar twice.

Life

Watkins started his career in 1982 in John Huston's family film Annie , in which he was responsible for the post-production of the sound mix. In the same year, she worked on Luciano Pavarotti's only feature film, Beloved Giorgio . He was part of the sound team at the 1988 40th Annual Emmy Awards ceremony. In 1990 Watkins received his first Oscar nomination for Oliver Stone's Vietnam drama Born On July 4th, starring Tom Cruise . The following year he won the Oscar in the “Best Sound Mixing” category for his work in Kevin Costner's award-winning monumental film Dances with Wolves . For the sound mix in Tony Scott's thriller Crimson Tide - Watkins was again nominated for an Oscar in 1996. His last collaboration in 2013 was Watkins for the television series Sleepy Hollow , where he acted as sound engineer for six episodes. In 2014 he was already involved in two feature films and one television film that have not yet started. IMDb lists more than 150 productions that Watkins has been involved in.
