The Bilstein is a 665.5 m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the Vogelsberg east-southeast of Busenborn , a district of Schotten . The basalt rocks on the summit of the otherwise densely forested mountain are a good vantage point.

On a clear day, you can see the Odenwald in the southwest from the summit . The skyline of Frankfurt am Main is visible in the west-southwest direction , directly behind it the Donnersberg in the Palatinate. In the west the Taunus dominates with the Großer Feldberg . In the north-west the view extends to the Westerwald , the Dünsberg near Gießen and to the Rothaargebirge in the far north-north-west. In addition, the entire Wetterau can be seen from the Bilstein .
Access
From the parking lot at the glider airfield on the L 3338 between Breungeshain and Sichenhausen or Schotten and Grebenhain, you can reach Bilstein in 15 to 20 minutes by following the path marked with a bar to SW and after approx. 400 m at the sign "Bilstein" turns off a steep, inferior path. The last few meters on the Bilstein are overcome with easy climbing.

On the Saturday before Pentecost is the bachelor of Busenborn a Maie situated on the Bilstein and guarded one night.
