The Haßelbach is a left tributary of the Kinzig in the Main-Kinzig district in the Hessian Spessart .

The Haßelbach rises at an altitude of about 250 m above sea level. NHN in Eidengesäß .
It flows through the village, then past the black mill and the alder mill to Altenhaßlau , where it runs into piping. This leads through the historic town center at the town hall.
It leaves the piping shortly afterwards, crosses under the Bundesautobahn 66 and finally flows into the border to Gelnhausen , near the newly built underpass of the Kinzigtalbahn , at an altitude of about 130 m above sea level. NHN in a left arm of the Kinzig .
Its 4.9 km long run ends 120 meters below its source, so it has an average bed gradient of 24 ‰.
Catchment area
The catchment area of the Haßbach lies in the Sandstone Spessart and in the Büdingen-Meerholzer hill country . It is drained over the Kinzig , the Main and the Rhine to the North Sea.
It borders
- in the east to the Bieber , a tributary of the Kinzig
- in the southeast to that of the Bieber tributary Lützelbach
- in the southwest to that of the Eichelbach , a tributary of the Schandelbach
- and in the west to that of the Schandelbach itself, which flows into the Kinzig
The highest point is the 393 m high Galgenberg in the northeast of the catchment area.
