Birgit Bockmann

Birgit Bockmann (* 1966 in Neumünster ) is a German actress and theater director .

Life

After graduating from high school, Birgit Bockmann studied acting from 1988 to 1991 at the Paris École internationale du théâtre of the French theater teacher Jacques Lecoq . She then returned to Germany and played at various Hamburg theaters until 1997. From 1998 to 2002, Bockmann studied "Scenic Writing" at the Berlin University of the Arts and took part in several workshops in this context, including those of Simon McBurney and his Théâtre de Complicité. In 2001 she received a scholarship from the Berlin Senate for playwrights at Wiepersdorf Castle .

In the past, Bockmann played several times at the Hamburg Ohnsorg Theater and in 2017 stood alongside Heidi Mahler and Peter Millowitsch in the role of Meta Boldt in the classic Gossip in the Staircase on the stage of the Comedy Düsseldorf . Bockmann also works as a director and staged at the Low German Stage in Flensburg , the Low German Stage in Neumünster and the Black-headed Gull Theater , and she also organizes various readings.

In front of the camera, Bockmann gained greater popularity towards the end of the 1980s as the lawyer’s secretary Birgit in the 33-part early- evening series A tricky case , which she shot before starting her acting training. She later appeared as a guest in various series, most recently in several episodes of the series Die Kinder vom Alstertal until 2004 .
