Birgit Havenstein

Birgit Havenstein (born January 4, 1954 in Berlin ) is a German flautist , composer and music teacher .

Live and act

Havenstein received instrumental lessons ( violin , piano , flute ) from 1960 . From 1970 to 1973 she was a young student at the Berlin Conservatory (Julius Stern Institute) and in 1971 she was a prizewinner at the national competition “ Jugend musiziert ”. After graduating from high school in 1973, she completed school music studies at the HdK Berlin until 1977 and then flute studies at the HdK Berlin and in Zurich until 1981 . From 1987 she studied composition again until 1991 at the UdK Berlin and from 1996 to 1999 German at the Free University of Berlin . Until 1998, in addition to its degree programs and teacher at the Berlin music schools , it is since 2002 after completing her teaching degree school teacher for music, German and role play .

From 1983 to 1994 Havenstein worked closely with the director and writer Harald Budde . From 1985 onwards she received composition commissions from various internationally known performers and ensembles as well as several composition grants from the Berlin Senate for Culture and other awards.
