The Biscayne National Park is located in South Florida and extends over the Biscayne Bay and the northernmost islands of the Florida Keys .
This is one of the most popular diving and snorkeling spots in America. The park consists of 95% water and protects the offshore coral reef , which is part of the reef system that extends over the entire south coast of Florida. It is the third largest in the world after the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and the reef off the coast of Belize . The coast of the park and the numerous islands are home to extensive mangrove forests .
The main attractions of the park are diving and snorkeling, and it is also possible to rent sea kayaks or explore the bay with glass-bottom boats .
