The Diocese of Alindao ( Latin Dioecesis Alindaoensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Alindao in the Central African Republic . It includes the prefecture of Basse-Kotto .

It was built on December 18, 2004 in a part of the diocese of Bangassou and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Bangui as a suffragan .

Pope John Paul II appointed the Provincial of the Spiritan Order in Germany, Father Peter Marzinkowski , CSSp, as the first bishop . On May 14, 2012, Pope Benedict XVI presented him . the previous Vicar General Cyr-Nestor Yapaupa as coadjutor bishop to the side. Since the acceptance of the age-related resignation of Bishop Marzinkowski by Pope Francis on March 19, 2014, Bishop Yapaupa has been the diocesan bishop.

In November 2018, rebels from the Unité pour la Paix en Centrafrique (UPS) attacked the bishopric in Alindao and killed, among others, the vicar general of the diocese. The cathedral in Alindao was looted and burned down.
