Cathedral of Santos Apóstoles Felipe y Santiago

The diocese of Azcapotzalco was established by Pope Francis on September 28, 2019 from cession of territory to the Archdiocese of Mexico City and subordinated to it as a suffragan diocese. The first bishop was Adolfo Miguel Castaño Fonseca .

The diocese of Azcapotzalco includes the municipality of Azcapotzalco and the western part of the municipality of Gustavo A. Madero .
