The Roman Catholic Diocese of Christchurch ( lat. : Dioecesis Christopolitana ) is in New Zealand location diocese of the Roman Catholic Church , based in Christchurch .

The Diocese of Christchurch in New Zealand was established on May 5, 1887 and was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Wellington as a suffragan .
