history
The Diocese of Diphu was established on December 5, 1983 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Ut per aptam from cessions of territory from the Archdiocese of Shillong-Guwahati . It is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Guwahati as a suffragan .
