The Diocese of Eunápolis ( Latin Dioecesis Eunapolitana , Portuguese Diocese de Eunápolis ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese headquartered in Eunápolis in the state of Bahia .

history

The diocese of Eunápolis was established on June 12, 1996 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Apostolicum munus from cessions of territory from the diocese of Itabuna and the diocese of Teixeira de Freitas-Caravelas . It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of São Salvador da Bahia as a suffragan . The first bishop was José Edson Santana de Oliveira .
