history

The Diocese of Fenoarivo Atsinanana was established on October 30, 2000 by Pope John Paul II from cession of territory to the Archdiocese of Antsiranana and subordinated to it as a suffragan diocese. On February 26, 2010, the Diocese of Fenoarivo Atsinanana was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Toamasina as a suffragan.
