The Diocese of Helsingør ( Danish Helsingør Stift ) is a diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Danish People's Church . It includes the Danish capital region with the exception of the cities of Copenhagen , Frederiksberg , Tårnby and Dragør . The diocese was separated from the diocese of Copenhagen on January 1, 1961 and is the youngest of the ten dioceses of the Danish People's Church. The main church is St. Olai's Cathedral in Helsingør .
The diocese includes 147 parishes, which are distributed over 13 provosts . With (as of January 1, 2017) 692,405 parishioners, which corresponds to 69.1% of the resident population, it is the diocese with the largest number of members in Denmark.
The current bishop has been Lise-Lotte Rebel since 1995 .
