The Bistum Kigoma ( lat. : Dioecesis Kigomaensis ) is an in Tanzania preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Kigoma .
history
The diocese of Kigoma was on September 27, 1880 by Pope Leo XIII. Established from the cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Central Africa as the Apostolic Vicariate Tanganyika . On May 10, 1946, the Apostolic Vicariate Tanganyika gave parts of its territory to the establishment of the Apostolic Vicariate Karema . The Apostolic Vicariate Tanganyika was renamed on May 10, 1946 in Apostolic Vicariate Kigoma .
On March 25, 1953, the Apostolic Vicariate Kigoma was by Pope Pius XII. with the Apostolic Constitution Quemadmodum ad Nos raised to the diocese and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Tabora as a suffragan .
