The Diocese of Naval ( Latin : Dioecesis Navaliensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese located on the island of Biliran in the Philippines , with its seat in Naval . It includes the province of Biliran and the northwestern tip of the island of Leyte .
history
Pope John Paul II founded it with the Apostolic Constitution Singulari Qui Dei on November 29, 1988 from cession of territory from the Archdiocese of Palo , to which it was also subordinated as a suffragan diocese. Filomeno Gonzales Bactol was the first diocesan bishop until October 2017 . His successor is Rex Ramirez .
