Rex Cullingham Ramírez (born December 15, 1967 in Balangiga , Eastern Samar , Philippines ) is a Filipino clergyman and Roman Catholic Bishop from Naval .

Life

Rex C. Ramirez studied at the Ateneo de Manila University and received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Palo on March 27, 1995 .

After ordination, he worked for two years as personal secretary to the Archbishop of Palo and then studied until 2007 in Rome at the Pontifical Athenaeum of Saint Anselm , where he will next the licentiate acquired and later to the doctor of theology doctorate was. After returning home, he was Professor and Spiritual at the Saint John the Evangelist School of Theology in Palo from 2007 and from 2013 Rain at the Sacred Heart Seminary there . In the archbishopric he was responsible for the coordination of the lay apostolate, headed the diocesan liturgy commission and was a member of the priestly council . In 2014 he was appointed Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Palo.

On October 13, 2017, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Naval. The Archbishop of Manila , Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle , donated him episcopal ordination on January 9 of the following year . Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, Archbishop Gabriele Caccia , and the Archbishop of Palo, John Du . The inauguration in the Diocese of Naval took place on January 12, 2018.
