The Diocese of Rourkela ( lat. : Dioecesis Rurkelaensis ) is in India situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Rourkela .

history

Pope John Paul II founded it with the Apostolic Constitution Cum cordi potissimum on July 4, 1979 from cession of territory by the Diocese of Sambalpur and it was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Cuttack - Bhubaneswar as a suffragan diocese.
