John Barwa
John Barwa SVD (born June 1, 1955 in Gaibira ) is Archbishop of Cuttack-Bhubaneswar .
Life
John Barwa joined the religious order of Steyler Missionaries , made his profession on October 14, 1984 and was ordained a priest on April 14, 1985 .
Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on February 4, 2006 Coadjutor Bishop of Rourkela . The Archbishop of Ranchi , Telesphore Placidus Cardinal Toppo , consecrated him bishop on April 19 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Alphonse Bilung SVD, Bishop of Rourkela, and Raphael Cheenath SVD, Archbishop of Cuttack - Bhubaneswar .
After Alphonse Bilungs SVD retired , he succeeded him on April 2, 2009 as Bishop of Rourkela. On February 11, 2011 he was appointed Archbishop of Cuttack-Bhubaneswar.
