The Roman Catholic Diocese of Sultanpet ( Latin Dioecesis Sultanpetensis , English Diocese of Sultanpet ) is in India situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Sultanpet .

history

The diocese of Sultanpet was established on December 28, 2013 by Pope Francis from ceding territories from the dioceses of Coimbatore and Calicut and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Verapoly as a suffragan . The first bishop was Peter Abir Antonisamy .

In Palakkad located parish church of St. Sebastian became the cathedral raised the diocese Sultanpet.

It includes the Palakkad district in the state of Kerala .
