The Diocese of Umuarama ( Latin Dioecesis Umuaramensis , Portuguese Diocese de Umuarama ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Umuarama . The diocese comprises the parishes of the Brazilian state of Paraná : Umuarama, Alto Paraíso, Piquiri Alto, Alton, Brasilândia do Sul, Cafezal do Sul, Cianorte, Cidade Gaúcha, Cruzeiro do Oeste, Douradina, Nova Esperança, Francisco Alvesó, Guaporema, Indian Icaraisíma, Indian Icarais , Iporã, Ivato, Japurá, Maria Helena, Nova Olimpia, Perobal, Pérola, Rondon, Santa Eliza, São Jorge do Patrocinio, São Tomé, Tapejara, Tapire and Xambrê Tuneiras do Oeste.

history

Pope Paul VI founded the diocese with the Apostolic Constitution Apostolico officio on May 26, 1973 from cession of the diocese of Campo Mourão and made it subject to the Archdiocese of Londrina as a suffragan diocese .

On October 16, 1979 it became part of the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Maringá .
