Bizana is a town in the province of Eastern Cape (Eastern Cape) in South Africa . It is the administrative seat of the municipality of Mbizana in the Alfred Nzo district .
geography
The place belongs to the Pondoland region . In 2011 Bizana had 7,974 inhabitants. Immediately to the west of the village is a 970 meter high mountain.
history
Bizana ( isiXhosa ; German roughly "small pot") belonged to Transkei until 1994 , when the homeland became part of the Eastern Cape Province. The politicians of the African National Congress Oliver Reginald Tambo and Winnie Madikizela-Mandela were born near Bizana.
Economy, infrastructure and transport
The place has a rural structure. St. Patrick's Hospital is in Bizana . Bizana is on the R61 , which connects Flagstaff in the southwest with Port Edward in the southeast.
