Bjørn Ianke

Bjørn Ianke (* 1948 in Hamar ; † March 15, 2002 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a Norwegian classical double bass player .

biography

After several years in Fredrikstad , Bjørn Ianke's family moved to Bodø in Northern Norway. Ianke had already started playing the piano and found the double bass at the age of 16. His first professional engagements were appearances in restaurants with the Björn Ianke Trio, in which he played the piano.

Björn Ianke studied double bass with Henrik Lindemann in Oslo , then with Ludwig Streicher in Vienna . He also briefly studied with the Berlin Philharmonic Klaus Stoll .

Ianke was a member of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and solo bassist of the Württemberg State Orchestra in Stuttgart , the Philharmonie Bergen , the Norwegian Opera Orchestra and the orchestra of the Royal Theater in Copenhagen . In addition, he was a busy soloist in Norway and abroad - 1989 International Music Festival Bergen, 1991 Nordic Music Festival Gothenburg, and 1993 with the Norwegian Wind Ensemble at the Rheinische Musik Festival Essen. He gave important solo concerts in Stockholm, Berlin and at the International Double Bass Festival BASS 94 in Avignon, where he gave two solo concerts. He taught double bass at the Grieg Academy in Bergen for six years.

Ianke repeatedly worked with composers and premiered several works for double bass. He was also involved in theater productions, especially with the poet Cecilie Löveid .
