Black Moon (German: Schwarzer Mond) is the eighth studio album by the British progressive rock band Emerson, Lake and Palmer , which was released in 1992, 14 years after the studio album Love Beach . The comeback album received mixed reviews and could not build on previous successes such as the albums Tarkus or Brain Salad Surgery . It reached number 78 on the US Billboard 200 charts.

AllMusic's verdict on the album: "The original trio's first studio album in a dozen years suffers from the inevitable aging and gloom of Lake's voice and the lack of real impulses."

The title " Affairs of the Heart " was based on a session in the summer of 1988 by Greg Lake together with Geoff Downes under the project name Ride the Tiger .
