The bleach pond water , formerly Oderwitz groundwater , is an approximately two and a half kilometer long stream in Upper Lusatia in Saxony . It rises in the Brandbusch on the northern slope of the Hofeberg in the Black Ponds and flows west past the Oberoderwitzer Spitzberg before flowing further north into the Landwasser in Oderwitz .

In 1828 a yarn bleaching facility was built on this stream north of the Sorge for the local house weaving mill and three ponds were created, the Upper, Middle and Lower Bleicheteich. In 1885 the drying house was destroyed in a fire, and the bleaching company ceased operations. Today the ponds are used as a recreational area, for fish rearing and fishing . Therefore, there are also deposits of eel , pike , pikeperch , carp , tench and various white fish in the stream .

The headwaters are protected as a natural monument "Black Pond".
