history

Shortly after 1800 the owner of the Mittelleutersdorf estate had a new settlement built on the edge of the forest area that stretched back then to the Oderwitz Spitzberg on the northeastern border of the Bohemian exclave Niederleutersdorf, which was called Neue Sorge , derived from the Middle High German word "Zarge" . Before that, a row of houses called Sorge had been built northwest of Josephsdorf in the Bohemian exclave , but they always belonged to Josephsdorf.

Since 1828 there was a bleaching facility on Aspenwiese in Neue Sorge, which the landlord later relocated to the Oderwitz groundwater and had three lead oaks and a dry house built there. The center of the settlement was the Sorgeschenke. Due to the main border and territorial recess between the Kingdom of Saxony and the Austrian Empire on March 5, 1848, the Bohemian exclave Niederleutersdorf came to Saxony on March 12, 1849, so the state border on the way between Neue Sorge and Josephsdorf fell away.

The Neue Sorge was originally part of the community of Mittelleutersdorf. In 1870, Mittelleutersdorf and Oberleutersdorf were combined to form the municipality of Oberleutersdorf. The district was led from 1875 under the official name Neumittelleutersdorf. The bleach in the groundwater valley burned down in 1885. In 1907 Oberleutersdorf, Niederleutersdorf and Josephsdorf merged to form the rural community of Leutersdorf. A year later the district was named as Neu-Mittelleutersdorf. In 1952 the district of Leutersdorf was given its original name Neue Sorge. Because the settlement has always been popularly known as the Sorge , the district has been officially named Sorge since 1997 .
