Blerim Destani (born April 12, 1981 in Stolberg ) is a German actor and film producer .

Live and act

Blerim Destani was born in Germany; his parents and the rest of his family are of Albanian descent. He grew up in Tetovo in Macedonia . At the age of 14 he got his first role as a young actor in the Albanian television film Atje ku nuk lind dielli (Eng. There, where the sun doesn't rise ). He made short documentaries and took acting classes in England .

Since 1998 Destani has lived and worked alternately in Germany and Macedonia. In 2004, he took over the lead role of "Beni" in the Kosovar TV movie Metropolet directed by Sunaj Raça and had another film role in 2005 raças turned movie Kosova - Desperate Search . In addition, Destani was active in the field of film direction and production ; In 2004 he worked as an associate producer on the internationally successful Macedonian film The Great Water (director: Ivo Trajkov ). The film has been shown at many renowned festivals and has received four awards at the Valencia Festival of Mediterranean Cinema (best camera work, best direction, best soundtrack and Palme d'Or).

He then continued his acting training and also took language lessons . In 2007 Destani played the lead role in the film Time of the Comet and was also the producer of this largest Albanian film production to date, which premiered in 2008. Since 2008 he has appeared in two international cinema productions, in the comedy Separation City (cinema premiere 2010) and the action comedy At World's End , in which he played a leading role.

Destani is the owner of the jeans company Kosovatex .
