Bob Versteegh

Bob Versteegh (born March 6, 1950 in Arnhem ) is a Dutch pianist and music teacher .

Career

He studied piano at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam with Jaap Callenbach, where he graduated with honors. He then continued his piano studies with Frédéric Gevers in Antwerp , Yara Bernette in Hamburg , Malcolm Frager and Maria Curcio in London .

Since then he has worked as a university professor , soloist and chamber musician . He was piano lecturer at the Conservatory of Leeuwarden and pianist and musical advisor to the Dutch Eurythmy Ensemble in The Hague .

In 1995, Bob Versteegh was a professor of piano at the Academy of Music in Detmold appointed. In addition to his teaching activities, he was Dean of Faculty 2 (keyboard instruments and singing) from 2001–2003 and 2009–2015 .

He was a jury member at various music competitions, including a. at the Chopin Competition at the University of Music and Dance in Cologne and the Westphalian van Bremen piano competition.

He has given concerts in various European countries and the United States , and between 1983 and 2007 in particular with the American saxophonist John-Edward Kelly. They premiered a considerable number of works for saxophone and piano that contemporary composers such as Michael Denhoff , Anders Eliasson , Uroš Rojko , Dimitri Terzakis and Miklós Maros dedicated to Kelly and Versteegh.
