Peter Seiler

Life

Peter Seiler was one of the first keyboard players in Germany to play the legendary Moog synthesizer back in the 1970s . He had record deals a. a. with Ariola (BMG) and BASF . During this time his first solo project Keyboards & Friends appeared . The saxophonist Gerd Köthe (later producer of Paola and Peter Hofmann) also took part in this avant-garde production . Peter Seiler founded the classical rock formation Tritonus in 1972 . The first appearance on television was in 1973 in the ARD / SWF talent show . The band Tritonus was disbanded in 1979. He then worked as a free live session musician (including on Udo Jürgens' 1979 European tour ), and then devoted himself entirely to studio work as a composer, musician and soloist. As a studio musician, he has participated in over 150 LP, single and CD productions.

He wrote signature tunes for ZDF (health magazine Praxis, Telezoo, Pfiff, Zeugen des Jahrhundert), film scores for example for the ARD / SWF series “Atlantis must not go under” (1986), the film “Mucki Bude” for SWR / Phoenix and for Arte and GEO, radio indicators for SDR 3 Südfunk Stuttgart and the station identification of HR Frankfurt (used from 1988–2003), as well as music for numerous planetariums such as San Francisco (Lasarium), Miami, New York, Bogota, Mannheim and Stuttgart. He has also composed and produced signature tunes, industrial film music and advertising jingles for some well-known companies and products ( BASF , Boehringer Mannheim , Chio Chips , Ferrero , John Deere , Vredestein ), sports clubs (MERC / Adler Mannheim , Eintracht Frankfurt ) and advertising agencies.

As an artist, Peter Seiler has been a member of the GVL ( Society for the Exploitation of Ancillary Rights ) and the German Association of Processors since 1973 . As a composer, he has been a full member of GEMA since 1983 . From 1981 to the end of 2015 he ran his own recording studio, Triple Music. and founded the PSM Records label in 1996. Peter Seiler is also an ambassador for the Sterntaler children's hospice.

Peter Seiler had frequent stays in the USA and also gave concerts in Japan, France, England, Spain and Italy (Venice). For the international song contest 1982 in Soppot, Poland, he composed and arranged the German contribution. The national album KlangOase was released in early 1996 ; the sound installation of the same name in Mannheim's Luisenpark every year between April and September has become a permanent fixture. Peter Seiler is 1st Chairman of the German Composers' Association in the Baden-Württemberg State Association and has been a lecturer at the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg since 2006 .
