Bodo Schümann (born September 25, 1937 in Neumünster ) is a German educator , theologian and former member of the Hamburg Parliament for the SPD .

Life

After attending elementary school in Einfeld , Bodo Schümann passed his Abitur in 1959 at the grammar school in Neumünster. He then studied Protestant theology in Kiel , Tübingen and Göttingen and took his first exam. After a practical training in Neumünster - among other things in school service - he passed his second theological exam.

In 1967 he became a pastor in the Hamburg development area of Osdorfer Born . In 1974 he switched to teaching at the comprehensive school in Hamburg-Steilshoop . From 1982 to 2002 he worked as managing director of the Elbe workshops, a workshop for disabled people in Hamburg. He then worked as a freelance organizational consultant.

politics

In 1967 Bodo Schümann joined the SPD and was elected to the Hamburg-Altona district executive in 1974. He was also a member of the GEW . From 1970 to 1974 he moved into the Hamburg-Altona district assembly .

From 1974 to 1986 he was elected as a member of the Hamburg parliament. His political focus there was primarily on the school and vocational training committee and the citizens' committee . Until the constitutional reform of 1996, at the request of the Hamburg Senate, the latter was authorized to approve the expenditure and sale of state property and, in urgent cases, also to pass statutory provisions - which will remain in force if parliament does not revoke them. In June 1977 he belonged together with Wulf Damkowski , Jan Ehlers , Bodo Fischer , Harro Frank , Hans-Jürgen Grambow , Helga von Hoffmann , Frauke Martin , Lothar Reinhard and Ortwin Runde to a group of ten SPD members of the Bundestag who, in connection with the Exclusion of the Juso chairman Klaus Uwe Benneter in a letter to the party chairman Willy Brandt demanded that this prevent party regulatory proceedings against 56 Hamburg SPD members who had shown solidarity with Benneter.
