Bolbeno (in the Trentino dialect: Bolbén or Balbén , German outdated: Bulben ) is a fraction of the municipality ( comune ) Borgo Lares and until 2015 was an independent municipality in Trentino in the autonomous region of Trentino-South Tyrol .
geography
Bolbeno is located about 29.5 kilometers west-southwest of Trento at an altitude of 585 mslm in the Inner Judicaria on the orographic right side of the valley of the Sarca river . The Stele faction still belonged to the former community. Until it was incorporated, it was part of the valley community Comunità delle Giudicarie . Neighboring communities were Bleggio Superiore , Bondo , Ledro , Preore , Tione di Trento and Zuclo .
history
The place is first mentioned in a document from November 928. The municipality of Bolbeno merged with Zuclo on January 1st, 2016 to form the new municipality of Borgo Lares.
