The court probably belonged to the St. Gereon Abbey in Cologne at that time . The farm is listed as a body farm on the Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies from 1715.

In the 19th century, Bollenbergsdorf was a residential area in the rural community of Unterdüssel of the mayor's office Wülfrath , which emerged from the Bergisch Honschaft Unterdüssel . On the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 a place is labeled with Bolmersdorf , on the Prussian first survey from 1843 the place is labeled as Bollenbergs . In 1888, according to the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province , the place had a house with 13 residents.

At the end of the 19th century, the industrial mining of the Devonian mass limestone began in the Dornap / Hahnenfurth area south of Bollenbergsdorf. With the municipal reform of 1975, the area around Bollenbergsdorf was incorporated into the city of Wuppertal.
