history

The place emerged from a courtyard that was mentioned in a document as early as 1217. In the late Middle Ages and early modern times, the farm belonged to the court association of the Gerresheim monastery in the Honschaft and the parish of Sonnborn in the Bergisches Amt of Solingen . The Vosbec farm is recorded on the Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies from 1715 .

During the French occupation, Vossbeck came to Mairie Wülfrath from 1806 and, under the Prussians, from 1816 to the mayor's office of Wülfrath, district of Unterdüssel . It remained in the city of Wülfrath until 1974, when the Dornaper area with Vossbeck became part of Wuppertal as part of a municipal reform.

At the end of the 19th century, the industrial mining of the Devonian mass limestone began in the Dornap area, to which Vossbeck finally fell victim in the mid-1960s.
