Bombinhas , officially Portuguese Município de Bombinhas , is a small town with an estimated 19,193 inhabitants (2018) on an area of around 35 km² in the state of Santa Catarina in southern Brazil . The distance to the capital Florianópolis is 70 km.
There is the Arvoredo nature reserve ( Reserva Biológica Marinha do Arvoredo ), which consists of an archipelago of three islands, where the cold Falkland Current meets the warm Brazilian water. The place is located in a bay that is bordered on both sides by rocky promontories. Because of this location, the place used to be a refuge for pirates . Today the place lives from water and diving tourism, among other things .

In the local elections in Brazil in 2016 , Ana Paula da Silva of the Partido Democrático Trabalhista (PDT) was re-elected as city prefect with 72.92% of the valid votes. Due to revealing clothing, she had to hand over the office to Paulo Henrique Dalago Müller of the Partido Trabalhista Brasileiro (PTB) in 2018 .
The city council, the Câmara de Vereadores, consists of nine members. The municipality is legally subordinate to the Comarca de Porto Belo (Komark Porto Belo).
