Bartlett has been married to William Daniels since 1951, whom she already met at Northwestern University in Chicago . One of the couple's children, born in 1961, died just a few hours after the birth. The actor couple adopted two boys, Michael and Robert; Bartlett then put her career on hold for over ten years to look after the sons. Both sons are now artistically active.
