Borgau is a district of the municipality of Finneland in the Burgenland district in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

The hamlet of Borgau is located on the northeastern slope of the Finne in a hilly area west of federal roads 87 and 250 and south of federal road 176 .

history

The hamlet was first mentioned on December 26, 1209. Borgau is said to have existed as a Slavic village earlier, but not verifiably . The current church has existed since 1818. In 2012 a total of 47 people lived in the hamlet.

On July 1, 1950, Borgau was incorporated into the municipality of Steinburg , which from 1994 belonged to the administrative community of Finne .
