Boris Becker (photographer)

Boris Becker (* 1961 in Cologne ) is a German photographer , filmmaker and former publisher. The motifs of his work are mostly constructions and details from architecture and landscapes.

Life

Becker, son of the writer Jürgen Becker , studied from 1982 to 1984 at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin with Wolfgang Ramsbott and from 1984 to 1990 at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf with Bernd Becher , most recently as a master class student . Becker is counted with his work at the Düsseldorf Photo School . For 1997/98 he was awarded a scholarship at the Villa Massimo in Rome. In 2010/11 he took on a substitute professorship at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne . Together with his wife, he founded his own diving tower gallery in downtown Cologne . space for art fashion book design film . In 2019 Becker received the artists' art prize for “Die Grosse” , which will take place in June at the Kunstpalast . Becker lives and works in Cologne .
