Boris Nannt (born September 29, 1969 in Preetz ) is a brigadier general of the Army of the German Armed Forces and has been Director of Strategy and Faculties at the Federal Armed Forces Command Academy in Hamburg since September 18, 2017 .

Military career

Training and first uses

Nannt joined the Bundeswehr in 1989 as an officer candidate in the 610 Supply Battalion in Seeth . He then completed his training as an officer in the supply corps , here he graduated from 1991 to 1995, a study of business administration at the University of the Bundeswehr Hamburg . He graduated with a degree in business administration . From 1995 to 1996 he was employed as a platoon leader in the 6./Nachschubbataillon 141 in Boostedt . From 1996 to 1997 Nannt was deployed as an S2 and S6 officer in the supply battalion 6 in Neumünster . This was again followed by a transfer to Boostedt, where he was used from 1997 to 2001 this time as the company commander of 2./NschBtl 141 and 6./NschBtl 141. From 2001 to 2002 Nannt was head of control of supply processes in the logistics regiment 14 in Demen . During this time he was also on a foreign assignment with KFOR in Kosovo . From 2002 to 2004, Nannt then took part in the 45th Army General Staff course at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg.

Service as a staff officer

After completing his general staff training, Nannt was employed from 2004 to 2007 as a staff officer G3 in the army command department at the command academy of the German armed forces. From 2007 to 2008 he completed the Spanish General Staff Training at the Escuela Superior de las Fuerzas Armadas (ESFAS) in Madrid . This was followed from 2008 to 2010 as a staff officer G3 ( operations management ) in the 10th Panzer Division in Sigmaringen . During this time he was again on a foreign assignment with KFOR in Kosovo. In 2010 Nannt graduated from the Joint and Combined Warfighting School (JCWS) at the Joint Forces Staff College in Norfolk ( Virginia / USA ). This was followed by a brief assignment in 2010 as a staff officer G3 at the Defense Division I Coast in Kiel . From 2010 to 2013, Nannt led logistics battalion 172 in Beelitz as commander . During this time he was also on a foreign assignment with ISAF in Afghanistan . This was followed by two ministerial assignments, initially from 2013 to 2015 as a specialist spokesman in the press and information staff of the Federal Ministry of Defense in Berlin . As the successor to Colonel Ingo Gerhartz , Nannt was then appointed from 2015 to 2017 as Deputy Spokesman for the BMVg and Head of the Press Division. He handed this post to Colonel Holger Neumann . Named is the co-founder of the project “Digitalforumführung”, a joint initiative of the Berlin-Brandenburg business associations and the German Armed Forces to train young executives together.

Service as a general

On September 18, 2017, Nannt became Director of Strategy & Faculties at the Management Academy of the Bundeswehr. In this post he was also appointed Brigadier General on August 17, 2018.
