Holger Neumann

Holger Neumann (born September 10, 1968 in Ulm ) is a Brigadier General of the Air Force of the Bundeswehr and director of training at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg .

Training and first uses

Promotions

Neumann joined in 1988, the armed forces and made to 1989 his military service in the army in the 2./Fallschirmjägerbataillon 253 in Nagold from. In 1989 he changed the armed forces to the Air Force and was deployed as a group leader in the Air Force Security Squadron of Jagdgeschwader 74 in Neuburg an der Donau . From 1993 to 1994 he completed the TORNADO weapons system training at the Trinational TORNADO Training Establishment (TTTE) in Cottesmore ( GBR ), and with the Fighter Bomber Wing 38 in Jever . From 1994 to 1997 Neumann was an operational pilot in the 2nd squadron of Fighter Bomber Wing 34 in Memmingen and from 1997 to 1999 adjutant of the commander of the 1st Air Force Division in Karlsruhe , Major General Walter Jertz . In 1999 he became an S3 operational officer of the flying group of Jagdbombergeschwader 34, before he was operational staff officer of the 2nd squadron of this squadron from 1999 to 2001. From 2001 to 2003 he took part in the general staff course at the leadership academy of the German Armed Forces in Hamburg.

Service as a staff officer

From 2003 to 2005 Neumann was employed as Head of Division A3a (Operations / Command Basics ) in the command of the 4th Air Force Division in Aurich . From 2005 to 2007 he was employed as a consultant FÜL III 1 (conception and further development of the Air Force) in the air force command staff in Bonn. From 2007 to 2009 Neumann was Military Assistant with the Supreme Allied Commander Europe ( SHAPE) of NATO in Mons ( Belgium ). From 2015 to 2017 Neumann was a commodore of the Tactical Air Force Wing 74 in leadership responsibility. From 2017 to 2018 he was employed as deputy spokesman for the Ministry of Defense and head of the press department in the press and information staff. He took over this post from Colonel Boris Nannt .

Service as a general

On September 26, 2018, Neumann took over from Flotilla Admiral Karsten Schneider the post of Director of Training at the Bundeswehr Leadership Academy in Hamburg. In this post he was promoted to Brigadier General in June 2019. As a pilot, Neumann has over 2,600 flight hours on training and combat aircraft.
