geography

location

Railway keeper's house at the former Hp Borne (Mark) , May 1993

Borne is located in the southwest of Brandenburg, southwest of Bad Belzig in the Hoher Fläming Nature Park . The Berlin – Blankenheim railway runs through the village . Until about 1991 the village had its own stopping point Borne (Mark) , which was about two kilometers away from the village in the middle of the forest. This location was chosen so that the railway was approximately the same distance from the three villages of Borne, Klein-Glien and Welsigke . At the time when the railway was being built, it was common to use horse-drawn vehicles to get to the stop.
